Mazari Landrace very often denoted by the full name of the city "Mazar I Sharif" is a short season BLD Landrace cultivar from Mazar in the Balkh province of Northern Afghanistan. It expresses both a truly squat - bushy structure with minimal side branching plant and the NLD taller with more side branching like highland varieties but both flowering around same 10-11 weeks It also expresses purple to red hues during the later part of flowering in colder nights. Plants can smell from fermented fruits like watermelon to foul sewage/diesel/crude motor oil. (Collected in Dec 2017 Blakh, Afghanistan from undomesticated Population)
